A Conversation Between Mothers

You may feel like no one understands what you're going through. I do.

Have you experienced baby loss? Do you feel overwhelmed by grief, loneliness, and uncertainty about how you will learn to carry on with life after the loss of your baby?

You are not alone.

Our FREE Life After Loss: A Conversation Between Mothers online session offers a safe and compassionate space for you to share your experiences, process your emotions, and begin to find your way to navigate life after loss.

In this one-to-one online session, you'll connect with Liza (Mikaeel's Mummy), a bereaved mother who understands the unique challenges faced by grieving mothers. I will listen without judgment and offer guidance and support tailored to your specific needs. Whether you're in the early stages of grief or still grappling with the pain of loss, I will help you navigate the challenges you face and discover coping mechanisms that can help you heal, while continuing to carry your baby in your heart.

During our conversation, we'll explore:

  • The unique aspects of your maternal grief experience
  • Effective strategies for managing difficult emotions
  • Ways to honour and remember your cherished child
  • Resources and support services available to you

The conversation will only include what you are comfortable with. If you wish to talk about your baby and share his/her/their story, we would love to listen.

My goal is to listen to your story, hear your baby's name, and provide you with the tools and resources you need to navigate the journey of grief with strength, resilience, and hope.

Schedule your session today and begin your journey towards healing. Together, we can find a way for you to navigate life after loss while carrying the love and memories of your child with you.

I am based in Tower Hamlets, and speak English and Bangla fluently. I also sign in British Sign Language (BSL).

Support for Relatives & Friends

How can you help a grieving parent after baby loss?

In the face of immense grief, the loss of a child can leave parents feeling lost, alone, and overwhelmed. As a partner, relative, or friend, providing unwavering support during this challenging time is crucial in helping them navigate their grief and cope with their sorrow.

Here are some ways you can offer invaluable support to bereaved parents:

  1. Be a Constant Presence: Offer your physical presence and emotional support throughout their journey. Let them know that you are there for them, whether they need someone to talk to, a shoulder to cry on, or just someone to sit with in silence.
  2. Validate Their Feelings: Acknowledge the profound depth of their loss and the unique bond they shared with their child. Validate their emotions, whether they are tears, anger, or silence, without judgment.
  3. Offer Practical Assistance: Shoulder the burden of everyday tasks to allow them to focus on their emotional recovery. Run errands, prepare meals, or offer help with childcare or household chores.
  4. Remain Patient and Understanding: Grief does not follow a linear path. There will be moments of intense sadness, followed by unexpected glimpses of joy. Be patient with their emotional fluctuations and embrace their unique grieving process.
  5. Respect Their Need for Space: Understand that they may need time to process their emotions privately. Respect their need for space and privacy, and don't take it personally if they seem withdrawn or distant.
  6. Connect Them with Resources: Encourage them to seek professional support from grief counselors, therapists, or support groups. These resources can provide valuable guidance and coping mechanisms.
  7. Honor Their Child's Memory: Help them commemorate their child's life in ways that are meaningful to them. Create keepsakes, plant a tree in their memory, or hold a memorial service.
  8. Embrace Their Spiritual Beliefs: If they have religious or spiritual practices that provide comfort, respect their choices and offer to accompany them to services or rituals.
  9. Celebrate Continued Parenthood: Recognize their continued bond with their other children. Offer extra support during family gatherings or special occasions.
  10. Be a Constant Source of Compassion: Offer unwavering support throughout the years. Check in regularly, offer empathetic listening, and celebrate their milestones along the way.

Remember, your unwavering support and compassion can make a profound difference in the lives of grieving parents. By offering a listening ear, practical assistance, and emotional understanding, you can help them navigate their grief and find strength amidst their sorrow.
